Christmas Gift Giving 2020: Boots

Hey everyone, I wanted to do a post before Christmas showing you all my favourite picks from different websites. Today I’m starting with boots because I’ve found lots of goodies I’d love to buy for myself never mind anyone else!

First up, if you’re anything like me you’ll always go straight to the food and drinks gifts section, especially on Boots! They always do it so well, with a selection of at home kits from our favourite restaurants it is almost a crime to not go nosey when you’re on the website! Boots are notorious for doing Nando’s and TGI at home kits, I find myself tempted to buy them for myself all year around any year but I think they’re especially fitting for a Christmas gift this year. We have had our fair share of time without our favourite foods and restaurants, the best we can do is to treat our families and friends to little gifts to help recreate this luxury and pleasure at home! Below are a few of my favourite ones available on Boots website for Christmas gifting this year.

When I think of Boots and Boots gifting I automatically think of Soap & Glory. Soap & Glory are an iconic Christmas gift, you’re guaranteed to receive one of their products every year but somehow they never get old! The different scents are gorgeous and the products themselves are top class, they are sure to make you feel luxurious! Boots are always sure to feature a Soap & Glory gift set in their “Star Gift” range every year and with good reason! I have included a few of my favourite options for this year below.

Both £20

Lastly, this is for my lifestyle and home lovers! Candles. Whether it be Yankee Candle or Woodwick you can really never go wrong! I find candles are a really good gift to get someone special in your life, especially if they’re quite an expensive brand because odds are, the recipient wouldn’t want to buy it for themselves. As long as you find out what kind of scents they like to ensure the gift is actually useful I think they’re a really good option. I find boots are good for finding Yankee candle sets that may be a bit more exciting than just buying one single candle, I have shown a few below that I would be more than happy to buy or receive this Christmas!

 £25

£17.99

Thanks for reading today’s blog post, I tried to provide a little bit of everything so you can at least find inspiration for all the different types of personalities in your life! All items are available as part of Boots Christmas gift offers. Let me know which would be your fav to receive šŸŽ…šŸ’—

Iconic Topshop Pieces From The 2010's

Given the sad news about Topshop this week I thought it was only right to dedicate a blog post to the iconic fashion statements made by them, mainly to teens like myself living through the 2010 era. Topshop was sadly bought over by ASOS this week, meaning all stores have closed and the website is gone. I personally find this upsetting as I used to love my weekly trips with the girls, looking through the clothes on the shop floor only to go home and purchase online anyway, buying from ASOS will not be the same. That being said, Topshop is to blame for a few very questionable fashion choices made by UK teens over the years, so I thought I'd shed some light and take a trip down memory lane in memory of the good times.  First up, frilly socks. Truly iconic. I used to love my frilly socks, I probably had a pair in every colour and when they started to fade from the wash no doubt I'd be back buying a replacement pair. It was very rare to see me in anything but! Paired with the next ...

Barilla Marketing Technique!

Hi everyone! I came across a Tik Tok today which put me on to Barilla Italia’s genius marketing strategy and I had to share it!  Barilla is a famous pasta company in the US. It is an Italian family-owned company and started in 1877. They have and specialise in many different shapes of pasta and pasta related products such as sauces etc. But, Barilla have came up with the idea of creating a Spotify account and making a playlist for each pasta box specifically.  Upon looking at the account you can see that they have a range of playlists depending on the type of pasta and the required cooking time, to ensure the pasta is cooked to perfection every time whilst always having a good time cooking it.  For example, there are “Moody Day Linguine”, “Top Hits Spaghetti” and “Best Song Penne”- the songs in each playlist depend entirely on their title and theme and each playlist finishes at the time needed for perfect pasta (e.g 7 or 11 mins). They include many artists and genr...

Does "Normal People" reflect normal TCD life?

Hi everyone!! I thought I'd make today's blog post all about the BBC's "Normal People", discussing my favourite elements and if it creates unrealistic expectations for being a student in Dublin. If you haven't watched it (why???), Normal People was based on Sally Rooney's bestselling novel and tells the tale of an almost unconventional love between main characters Marianne and Connell. They attend the same school, where they initially meet before going to the same university, Trinity College Dublin, a year later.   There are a few reasons why I think Normal People was so popular when it released. The first being, if you're anything like me seeing elements of Irish culture on TV brings you all kinds of joy! Normal People is set in the fictional town of Carricklea however it was filmed in Sligo. I found this was one of the main reasons I chose to watch it as I used to visit Sligo quite a lot as a young child, it was weird to see it featuring in a TV show...
