Christmas Gift Giving 2020: Boots

Hey everyone, I wanted to do a post before Christmas showing you all my favourite picks from different websites. Today I’m starting with boots because I’ve found lots of goodies I’d love to buy for myself never mind anyone else!  First up, if you’re anything like me you’ll always go straight to the food and drinks gifts section, especially on Boots! They always do it so well, with a selection of at home kits from our favourite restaurants it is almost a crime to not go nosey when you’re on the website! Boots are notorious for doing Nando’s and TGI at home kits, I find myself tempted to buy them for myself all year around any year but I think they’re especially fitting for a Christmas gift this year. We have had our fair share of time without our favourite foods and restaurants, the best we can do is to treat our families and friends to little gifts to help recreate this luxury and pleasure at home! Below are a few of my favourite ones available on Boots website for Christmas giftin...

My Favourite Instagram Accounts!

Hi everyone! Following the love on my favourite summer outfits post I thought it would be only right to share some of the accounts where I find my inspo!  @THENXCVINTAGE I am honestly obsessed with this account, as you will have noticed I love outfits with colour in them. I'm not really one for an all black outfit (we aren't going to a funeral). I love this account because it's also so colourful, the fashion posts are gorgeous with all the different colours, shades and textures within the outfits but the lifestyle posts are stunning as well. Obviously they have colour running through them, are we surprised. This account is truly goals, the pastel vibes remain so classy which can be hard to do. @JESSICAVWALSH Jessica's account is slightly different but I love it all the same. I only discovered this account a few weeks ago but I became obsessed, it isn't a fashion account at all and instead holds a much deeper meaning behind the pictures. The style is very vibrant, k...

A Glimmer of Normality: Through The Power of Advertising

Hi everyone! Today I wanted to dedicate a blog post to some of the post-lockdown advertisements. I know I'm a little late but I still wanted to talk a bit about them as many found them comforting during these unprecedented times and with the possibility of another lockdown looming, I found it appropriate.  As we know, 2020 has been a tough year. It's been tough for children, parents, students and even businesses! Basically, it has been tough for everyone except our pets, who have thrived off the extra attention and company every day! A lot of businesses and organisations were impacted during Covid-19 lockdown, with no reopening date in sight and the lack of funds, it sadly caused a lot of businesses to shut permanently. We had no idea when normality would return, so a few of the brands below took to their advertising to give us a glimpse of hope and positivity! Greggs: Greggs launched their new campaign in July. They began with pictures of their infamous sausage roll, caption...

Should Sustainable Shops Be The New Norm?

NASA said in 2019 that it had been the second warmest year on record. It was 1.8 degrees higher than the 20th century average. In fact, the top 5 warmest years on record from 1880-2019 had ALL occurred since 2015. In order to fight against these statistics and try to save the Earth, we all must do our part.  Asda have lead by example. Asda has recently opened their first sustainability store, as a trial, in Middleton, Leeds as an attempt to fight back against climate change by reducing plastic and waste. Supermarkets account for a lot of the waste we consume as many products are individually or excessively packaged when there is no need. On the corporate Asda website it explains that the store is designed to help shoppers reduce, reuse and recycle by providing refill stations for a selection of brands and products. This is said to help save one million pieces of plastic per year. Of course this is a trial store so it is being used to test and see which aspects appeal and work...

My favourite summer 2020 outfits!

Hi everyone! I know summer is long gone at this stage but I wanted to put a little blog post together about my favourite outfits from this years summer season. We couldn't really do much with all the Covid-19 restrictions but it was still nice to get dressed up to celebrate a few friends birthdays and things to make the most of it.  My first favourite was one I wore back at the start of July, when lockdown restrictions started to ease a little. It was my friend's birthday so I wore these yellow Stradivarius suit shorts, they were originally part of a set but because I bought them on ASOS I was able to purchase them separately. I then paired them with a lilac blouse from River Island, also bought on ASOS and my lilac purple converse which I got for an absolute bargain on Depop! I wore an old white belt with it and a white bag I got from Shein. Around mid July it was my friends 21st, I had this outfit sitting in my wardrobe since March as I planned to wear it on a night out in ...

Kim Kardashian's Controversial Celebrations

As I'm sure we're all aware, Kim Kardashian turned 40 last week. Believe me, I was as shocked as you; she barely looks 30! And she got people talking about it, but perhaps not in the way she wanted.. If you didn't know this, I'm not sure how because she caused quite a scandal since posting it on social media. Turning 40 is a huge moment in a woman's life, in anyone's life in fact. You always hear your mum or aunties saying the famous "life begins at 40" so it came as no surprise that in true Kardashian fashion, Kim wanted to go completely OTT to mark this celebration.  For her 40th, Kim revealed on Instagram that she flew her family and her "inner closest circle" to a private island.. in a pandemic. Uh oh. In her Instagram caption Kim explains what a great time she and her family had dancing, swimming with whales and watching movies on the beach but as the comments rolled in, everyone seemed more interested in the fact she was travelling dur...
